Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, account identifier, and account information provided by your chosen sign-in provider, such as a name or profile image.
• Learning information: your selected languages and level, lesson activity, vocabulary progress, streaks, and preferences.
• Subscription information: store transaction and subscription identifiers, purchase history, and entitlement status. Apple or Google processes store payments; Lexora does not receive your full payment card details.
• Reminder information: your notification preferences, reminder time and time zone, and device push token if you enable reminders.
• Support information: messages, contact details, and lesson feedback you choose to send us.
• Usage and diagnostic information: app interactions, account and device identifiers, device and app versions, crash reports, performance information, and network information such as IP addresses.

Speech recognition and generated lessons

Speaking practice uses your device's speech recognition service. On iOS, Apple may process your microphone audio to recognize the words you say. We ask for microphone and speech recognition permission before using these features. Recognition results are matched to the practice sentence in the app. Lexora's backend does not receive or store your microphone recordings or recognition transcripts. You can use quiet mode for practice without speaking and revoke permissions in device settings.

We use OpenAI to generate vocabulary explanations, translations, and practice sentences. Requests contain learning text, language selections, and learning level or difficulty where needed. We do not include your email address or account identifier in those requests. Google Gemini, LemonFox, and Soniox generate pronunciation audio from lesson text. These audio services receive lesson text, not your microphone recordings. Generated lesson text and audio may be cached and reused for other learners.

How we use and share information

We use information to provide sign-in, personalize your learning, save progress, manage subscriptions, send requested reminders, respond to support requests, diagnose problems, and understand how the service is used.

Our service providers process information needed for their roles:

• Clerk handles authentication and account information.
• RevenueCat manages store subscription information and entitlements.
• PostHog processes usage analytics, including account identifiers and email addresses.
• Sentry processes crash and performance diagnostics. The mobile app does not attach automatic screenshots or record session replays.
• Fly.io, Neon, Tigris, Vercel, and Cloudflare provide hosting, database storage, generated audio storage, website delivery, and support email delivery.
• The speech and AI providers described above process speech or learning content for those features.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising that tracks you across other companies' apps and websites.

Storage and retention

We retain account and learning information while your account is active. The app also stores preferences, cached learning information, and generated audio on your device. Deleting your account removes your authentication account, learning profile, progress, streaks, reminder settings, and feedback from our active application database and clears the account's local app storage.

Subscription audit records, store transaction records, support correspondence, analytics, diagnostic logs, and backups may remain for legal, accounting, security, or operational purposes. Shared generated lessons and pronunciation audio are not personal account records and can remain after account deletion. Contact us to request deletion of information held in our other systems; we will explain any information that must be retained.

Your choices and requests

You can change learning and reminder preferences in the app and control microphone, speech recognition, and notification permissions in device settings. To delete your account, open Profile and choose Delete Account. Deleting your Lexora account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google; manage or cancel it through your store account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Use our contact page to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before handling it.

Website storage and children

Our website and sign-in services may use cookies or local storage for operation and analytics. Browser settings let you control this storage. Lexora is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
